Diaper Bags - Convenience and Fashion

Friday, August 31st, 2007

Carrying a diaper bag is a necessity if you are a parent on the go. The baby diaper takes up very little space, however it is the bottles, wipes, toys, change of clothing etc. that can be a big hassle to lug around all day. We all have to use diapers bags if we travel with our babies, but they don’t have to be overwhelming and ugly. We don’t have to carry those heavy plastic bags around anymore if we don’t want to. We have fashionable options that make using them a great deal easier.

Introducing fruits to small children

When is the best time to start giving fruits to babies?

Most baby books recommend starting from 4-6 months. In my article on weaning baby onto solids, I recommend giving vegetables from 6 months. I like to introduce fruits from about 8 – 10 months which gives me time to check on the baby’s ability to digest the vegetables. You can check this out by looking at your baby’s stools. If the stools contain undigested vegetables this means that his system is not ready to take fruits, which is why I recommend starting fruits later.

Things to Consider When Choosing Your Baby’s Name

Sunday, August 26th, 2007

Naming a child is an extremely serious affair. A name stays forever and, if the child hates his name during his growing years, it can adversely affect his mind and psychology. Therefore, it is very important for parents to give their child a name that he will not find embarrassing when he grows up. Here’s one example of disastrous child naming: Bruce Willis has named his daughters Rumer, Tallulah and Scout. This is a clear case of forcing a personal choice down the throats of children who have no worldly experience of knowing what is right or wrong for them.

Research Your Daycare

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

Daycare is where you drop your child off with a provider, and is a great way for your kid to get some socialization if you’re in a situation where there aren’t other kids around. I suggest you check your state and local regulations before enrolling your child in a center or home daycare. The geographic limitations, and the diversity in type of daycare providers, make child daycare a highly fragmented industry. This leads to frustration for parents who are attempting to find quality child daycare, with 87% of them describing the traditional search for child daycare as “difficult and frustrating”. There are often local industry associations that lobby governments on childcare policy, promote the industry to the public or help parents choose the right daycare provider. In some cases, good daycare can provide different experiences than parental care does, especially when children reach two and are ready to interact with other children. As a matter of social policy, consistent, good daycare, may ensure adequate early childhood education for children of less skilled parents.

Can One Man’s Trash Really Be My Bedroom Decor Treasure?

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

You’ve probably never thought about recycled furniture as home decor. In fact, you might be disgusted by the thought of someone picking up your old furniture when you set it out on the curb for trash pickup. However, if you think about it, furniture is recycled all the time, with pieces being sold in garage sales or sent to Goodwill and other charity services for those who are less fortunate. If you are working with a small budget, a garage sale or a second hand store can actually be a great place to find your newest bedroom furniture item or decorative piece for the foyer.
