Success Secret of Myspace Widgets
By :
Sam Park A
Make a search on the net and find out how many people are looking for myspace widgets. Google trends give very precise information about the searches being made. You may be surprised at the numbers.
Myspace has become popular and along with its own site, it has given space to hundreds of websites that are offering graphics, comments layouts etc. These and other content such as name generators, photo album etc. is all called as myspace widgets. What is the secret of success of these widgets? Let us try to answer this and find out how to use them.
Countdown clocks-
One of the most popular widget is countdown clock. In this widget you can keep an eye over the time after which a day will arrive. Halloween is on 30th October. So if you write the date in the widget and click, you will be given precise time in days, hours, minutes and seconds to Halloween. On Halloween day the countdown will get completed. Many users use such countdown clocks for their birthday, anniversary etc. also.
You can look for countdown clocks with a quick Google search. Look at the designs, the colours, text font and the size of the widget. Ideally it should be added to any section on the left of your profile. You can also have countdown clocks for many different occasions. Only take care that the weight does not make it difficult to open the profile.
Comments-
Myspace has got a profile page. On that profile page of the user you will find comments at the right bottom. In this section comments sent by friends are posted. One who receives more comments feels happier. That is an indication that he/she is very popular. That is why to receive more comments users send more of them as graphics. These Myspace graphics are sized to the page and have designs and text to convey the message. You can call them as small e-cards. At present Halloween graphics are most popular. Otherwise funny graphics, thanks and congratulations etc. are always popular.
Other widgets such as contact tables, videos, text generators, surveys and others can be found on premium websites. Look at them, choose them and add them.

All About Dedicated Hosting Services
By :
Cheryle C. Hayes
Unless overtly listed otherwise, most website hosting packages you'll come across in your search are what are called shared hosting providers. What this implies is the server or servers that host your internet site are at the same time hosting countless other websites also. This gives you a discounted rate on website hosting services in exchange for tolerating certain technical restraints, like bandwidth, disk space, upload and download speeds, security and privacy, traffic, and likely the most important restriction -- total control.
If you want total control not only over the administration of your internet site but also over the very hardware and software used to run it, then you should be gauging not shared hosting providers, but dedicated hosting suppliers. If your business is enormous enough or growing quick enough that it needs its own net connection and server, you might need a dedicated website host.
What is the disadvantage to going with dedicated hosting providers? In short : responsibility. In most areas of life, with total control comes total responsibility, and it's no different with hosting providers. With a dedicated server, the onus is on you to buy, install, and maintain the tangible gear -- the server itself -- mounted in the dedicated hosting providers' info center.
luckily , you still get the advantage of their possibly first-class, around-the-clock security over the physical grounds, but you remain fully in charge of the safety of your cyber-premises. Similarly, dedicated hosting providers will make sure that the systems in the building are all supplied with redundant uninterruptible and backup power and environmental controls, but it's's you who have to keep your machines and cables maintained and working in this idyll environment.
How does one identify whether it's time to change from a shared host to a dedicated host? There are three main indicators to stay alert for :
Speed
If the traffic streaming thru your shared server is slowing down your customers' pace as they browse your website ( or your people, if an in-house site ), it may just be time to look for more unfettered shared hosting. But if you have tried several shared hosting suppliers with identical results, then it may be time to remind yourself how impatient the average surfer is. While you're jumping from shared host to shared host attempting to save a buck, your clients are jumping ship. Your capability to reply promptly and effectively to customer transactions and inquiries can't be overemphasized either.
trustworthiness
The boundaries to your control are nowhere more obvious than in the areas of trustworthiness and security. It is not simply that problems can arise : Problems do arise. It's the nature of the biz. And if you don't have unlimited access to your own operating system, software and database apps, etc, there's not too much you can do when one arises.
Customizability
If your company is growing fast, you're going to be changing many aspects of your web presence along with it. You may regularly need to tweak your disk space and bandwidth and experiment with using different applications to better serve your changing needs. On a shared host, upgrading in such a fashion often involves leaping from one package or plan to another. These packages are sometimes preset and may or may not serve your immediate wants. They could be laden with programs you do not yet need, as an example, yet lack in the one anomalous program you do. Or the following leap up from your current plan has way more disk space and bandwidth than you need right now. With a dedicated server, you can make changes incrementally, step forward, step back, heck, step sideways if you need to -- and when you want to.
largely, it's the size and growth rate of your business that will dictate whether you want a shared or dedicated host. Affordability and private time commitment are nice secondary issues, but if your business is booming, you would do it a great injustice to attempt to save on a couple of dollars and few extra hours per week of your time in return for slower and poorer quality of service for your clients.
By the same token , however , if your business is small enough to function quite smoothly on any of the shared hosting suppliers out there, don't waste your valuable capital on a dedicated server just so you can have total control. Because often total control isn't all it's cracked up to be.
There is Hope in E-mail Anti-Spam And Virus Protection For Businesses
By :
Cheryle C. Hayes
With anti spam sellers offering lower cost licensing, businesses can now afford advanced e-mail spam and virus protection with a simple to use interface at a significantly lower cost. The great thing about technology is that as it evolves it becomes quicker, extra features and economical. Over the past few years the same evolution has taken place with anti spam technology and services. In large part this can be accredited to the open source software community plus enterprising companies enhancing the capacities of this programme and packaging it into easy to use anti spam appliances.
It is not practical to have anti spam software running on desktops in a networked business environment. Managing all employee junk email software at the desktop isn't practical. It can be a nightmare and dear in terms time and licensing.
Spam appliances sit in front of your email server so that when email comes in it'll first go to the spam appliance and the e-mail will be scanned for spam as well as viruses. The filter will block the message if it identified as know spam. If the filter is not sure if the e-mail is real it'll quarantine and hold the email at the filter and it'll be stored until the recipient removes it, releases it to their e-mail box, or they can white list a trustworthy correspondent so that future emails will not be held back. This will greatly reduce the load on your email server and reduce your bandwidth wants. We have seen anti spam systems block up to 83% of incoming messages. This could help extend the life of your email server and push back the requirement for upgraded capacity.
Most virus outbreaks occur through email and for small cost an appliance can block viruses before they reach your network and users inboxes. This provides an additional layer of defense in addition to your current anti virus solution.
Businesses have two options if they use an appliance based solution for their spam and pathogen control. They can buy and administer their own filter. This is a good option if you have got a large number of employee mailboxes to protect and the technical staff to administer the spam appliance. Companies also have the option to outsource their spam control as a hosted service. This is a good selection for smaller companies and if information technology is not your specialty.
if you purchase your own spam filter, a subscription to updates could also be needed. Ensure you get upfront pricing for the add-ons that you're going to need. If you have more than 100 email users and the technical staff to maintain the spam appliance, buying your own filter might be your best option. Typically the basic model will work for most bodies. Large bodies with thousands of users will require a spam filter appliance with increases capacity and features. Spam appliances are designed to work with all mail systems but some do have explicit enhancements for Exchange server Microsofts popular collaboration software and mail servers that support LDAP ( light weight directory access protocol ). Spam appliances use the LDAP protocol to determine recipients before delivering messages to your e-mail server, this avoids consuming server resources.
If your business has 5 to 100 employees, then an outsourced anti spam and virus filter service is going to be a good cost-effective choice for your organization. Costs are based totally on the number of users and you only pay for what you use. You will not have hardware to buy, maintain, and upgrade. The up-front cost is low and most email filtering providers will let you try the service for free at first. Another added benefit to outsourcing your spam control is redundancy. It's important that you select a supplier that has their spam and virus filters collocated at secure Internet info center facilities. Info centers provide redundant network connections and power, so if your email server or Internet connection is down suddenly the spam appliance will hold your e-mail till your e-mail server becomes available, minus spam and viruses.
Anti spam technology is consistently improving and the costs are getting lower. With increased productiveness and an additional layer of protection against pathogen attacks, an anti spam appliance or service is something your business can not afford to be without.

The Cost of Running and Configuring an Exchange Server
By :
Thurman C. Arzola
An exchange server is a Microsoft function that serves a variety of purposes including e-mail capacities, calendar application and information storage.
Exchange servers have been available since 1993 and have proved to be an incredibly popular facility. There have been many versions since their intro to cope with the increasing demands of new operating systems in the world of private computing.
When configuring an exchange server, it's a necessity to line up individual email accounts for each individual which will be using the facility for sending and receiving messages through the server.
Each individual account must be configured to allow varying levels of accessibility, therefore giving some users higher levels of permission than others. This designates what particular levels of access individuals might have on the server and dictates the level of control that a particular user will have over their own e-mails.
Once set up, the moderator or administrator of the exchange server is able to configure the filtering options. This will offer protection from viruses, trojans, spam and unsolicited mail reaching the users of the post facility of the exchange servers in question. Individual IP addresses can be blocked to stop mail coming from one special person and the server can also block recipients so messages can't reach them.
Once a message has cleared the filtering system, it is routed to the intended recipient. Microsoft exchange servers were initially designed to be used solely with Microsoft Outlook, but the inflating numbers of versions have authorized other clients to be used including Outlook Express, Mozilla and Thunderbird as well as allowing interfaces like Outlook Web Access.
The latest version of Microsoft exchange server will be ES2010. This is lined up for release in the later part of 2009 and will contain a major number of new features as well as improving certain aspects of the ES2007 version.
Price can change dependant on the number of storage groups and databases required. Cost may also be affected by the applicable licenses required for operation.
5 storage groups and equivalent number of databases per mailbox server role will cost $699 ( Standard Edition ) while fifty storage groups and 50 databases will cost $3,999 ( Enterprise Edition ).
a standard license costs $67 while an upgrade to a co. license adds $35 to the bill.
External connector licenses will alter in price from region to region but will not be affected by constraints. These licenses are generally charged out at individual price per server.

IPTV - Can it Live Up To the Hype?
By :
JJK
IPTV - OVERVIEW
About IPTV
Iptv stands for internet protocol television, which is a technology for transporting data information and Audio and Video (AV), across an IP based digital network. This could include Ethernet,WAN,internet or LAN. By adding set top boxes (STB), AV sources have the ability to be streamed across existing networks to PCs or TVs. IPTV can be one to one (Unicast) or one to many (Multicast).
The most effective form of transmission is offered by Multicast streams as it's possible for the bandwidth to be shared amongst all of the users who want to view that particular stream. No matter how many viewers (providing the network is configured correctly), a 4Mbs stream for example, will only use that amount of bandwidth. No bandwidth is used if the channel is not being watched.
Unicast transmissions are generally used for two-way transmissions - for example Video On Demand (VOD), only the viewer who has ordered the content receives it with this system. You can pause, play, rewind, fast forward etc. Unicast can also be used for linking buildings via a WAN for TV channels, cameras etc. The downside of unicast on the system is bandwidth, as each viewer uses their own amount. 100 users all viewing 4Mbs of VOD will use 400Mbs of the network's bandwidth.
IPTV - The Advantages
There are numerous advantages over RF coaxial based transmissions. AV streams can be inserted into an existing network and viewed with no addition to the existing infrastructure. Channels can be grouped and controlled to suit personal preferences. STBs can be controlled across the network or internet VOD servers. Local content, films and sport can be added for revenue stream in say a hotel, or offered free to a student campus. Streams can be recorded and viewed onto PCs without the need for TV capture cards and extra cabling. This is useful for banks, businesses, news agencies etc.
Digital IP based networks are virtually immune to ghosting, noise, harmonics, cross modulation, reflections etc - problems that are all common in analogue systems. Some of these problems have been resolved using digital transmission across the coaxial networks, however, these still suffer from some of the above.
So to summarise, the picture quality of a correctly installed IPTV system is superior to almost all other means of transmission.

Being an expatriate mother in the UAE is full of challenges as they have to raise their children in an environment that is totally different from the countries from which they come from. Most women who are based in the Emirates are working mothers and this makes it all the more essential that these women have some source or community support group to turn to.
