His first record contract was in Nashville with an Independent Record label. He wrote “Same Old Highway” which was recorded by Sonny Wright. Sonny played the song on “Nashville Now” and was played in almost every country in Europe. It was very exciting times. He recorded his first song at Ray Stevens Studio in Nashville. There was one song from that session that did fairly well. The song was “Couldn’t Love You More” which he wrote and sang. Self-Check The Music & Decide Your Self How Good's The Music? He also recorded at the Recorded, the Music Mill and the Shock House in Nashville. Jack Eubanks was the leader of the early “Alabama” session. He was a big help to Steve and was the leader of his sessions there. He continued to write songs over the years and the songs just seem to get better and better. He went back to Nashville in 2003 and played in clubs around town. The response to the songs was really good. He headed back to Colorado and with the help of his friend Paul Searles and Chuck Naftier they began putting the songs together for the “It’s About Time” CD. He had another friend in Nashville who helped put the project together. In Steve's opinion, He had some of the best players in Nashville record on this CD. I am so proud of this CD.
