Packers Have Key Injuries Already

By: Adam Sorenson

##LINKXL## Among the players on the Packers injury list for Sunday's game the Bengals are Bigby, Clifton, Blackmon, College, Crosby, Jackson, Jennings, and Raji. Some of the injuries are not serious, but it is the beginning of a serious trend that always seems to be a factor with the Packers. We consistently lose a lot of players to injuries.

Lets start with the Bigby injury. Now I really did not want to be saying "I told you so," after only the first week. But, the Packers are now looking really really stupid for cutting Anthony Smith. I do not know why they cut him in the first place (he must have kicked Thompson or McCarthy in the nuts or something). The Packers could really use him right now. I knew Bigby would get hurt and our backups are not very good at all. This is a huge loss. Bigby will absolutely not play this weekend against the Bengals.

Brandon Jackson is another one that will not play at all this weekend. Again this is another "I told you so." They should have kept Sutton instead of Jackson. But Sutton, like Smith, was quickly snapped up off waivers by the Carolina Panthers (Anthony Smith was picked up by the Rams). I dont know if that means we will only dress two running backs, or if Lumpkin will come up from the practice squad.

Clifton's absence has been not injury related and should be good to go for the game. Blackmon, who missed the opener, is listed as probable. So he should also be there.

I see that Mason Crosby is listed as probable with an abdomen problem. How does that happen? College is questionable with a foot problem, but they expect him to be ready.

Jennings should also be able to go. Thank god, he is the last person I want to see hurt. He is arguably our second most important player and nobody else can get open like him. And Raji is listed as questionable even though the Packers website says that he did full participation all week in practice. He will probably be good to go as well. Which is good. I want to see our high priced draft pick in action! ##/LINKXL##
