No big deal, just a 1 pimple. Everybody knows that from time to time everybody gets one. If only it could have been on his shoulder instead of his face. What is Paul going to do about that one pimple? Well, Paul did what most young people do and popped it. That might have been a mistake because the next morning Paul woke up with even more pimples. His mom and dad told him to make sure he washed twice a day and scrub that face. Of course, this is what they had been told in their youth and were just passing it along. But, the acne continued to get worse. It could be called acne now. Breakouts all over his face. So, he went to the store and bought some over the counter cream. That seemed to help a little, but the breakouts were continuing. Next, Paul visited a doctor to see what else could be done. The doctor prescribed another cream, told hime to wash twice or three times daily gently, and put Paul on antibiotics. Still the acne continued. They even tried blue light treatments to little avail. Finally, Paul and his parents decided to try a holistic approach. They watched what he ate and Paul started keeping a journal of what was making the acne breakouts better or worse. They went to a nutritionist and got a list of suggestions for natural, gentle products that would help. The nutritionist told them they were on the right track with the food journal. She even recommended some foods to stay clear of to help out. The nutritionist also recommended some natural supplements. With this three pronged attack, Paul got ahead of the outbreaks. He now knew what foods to stay clear of. He knew what supplements helped and which ones did not help. He is confident in his holistic approach and natural remedies acne.
