Is this the end for the Prime Minister? Watch our Rock Videos and listen to Goodbye Prime Minister song, you can even download it for FREE! The Brown saga continues. The poor man just can't seem to do anything right. We are in the midst of the man's great 'relaunch' and his very own Chancellor had squandered the opportunity before Gordon could even have a chance to tell us of the stamp duty rescue package for first time buyers. The centrepiece of the Prime Minister's fightback was a year long tax exemption cutting 1 per cent, or as much as £1,750, off the price of houses worth up to £175,000. Industry figures said thatsuspension of the stamp duty tax signalled that Government had at last woken up to the problems facing the housing sector, but most said it would do little to help the overall mortgage funding market, which has virtually ground to a halt since the onset of the credit crunch last summer. And now it seems the Chancellor also can't tell us where this additional £600m is to come from, saying it will be detailed in the pre budget report. This really is quite surprising that they have not thought about this one - did they not think that journalists would enquire about this fact - it's not like they haven't been fannying around in Norfolk or Scotland all August trying to think of a solution! They really aren't the best team to lead the country through these harder times. It is beyond belief, unprecedented even, that our very own Chancellor could talk us into a recession, with incorrect facts and figures about how we are facing our toughest economic period for 60 years. A chancellor is supposed to talk up the economy not admit defeat. The situation was actually worse back in 1992 when unemployment was at 3 million rather than the 1.5 million it is now. It would be better if the country had any faith in their leader, or even liked the bloke. But the fact is Gordon can't connect on a level with the decision makers and influential people of the country, let alone the younger generation like me, who just think he is some charmless fat Scot. Cameron does far more to appeal to our generation, and seems to have fresh ideas on policy that always puts the government on the back foot. It really is Goodbye Prime minister.
