It's really simple to learn the undiscovered ways that can make you more funny than you ever imagined you could be. Before I start, I will tell you about how scientists have explained why folks find some things amusing. Each and every time when we learn something we didn’t know before, the mind builds a new route from one neural cell to the other cell. That path is called a synapse and this is an example of the way it works: When thinking about grapes , at the same time, we know the apples are food, so, our brain will create a connection (the synapse) between the two neural cells that store all the date we have on food and that fruit. This actually means, that the next time you think of food, you will most likely think of apples. What you're probably thinking is that this has nothing to do with humor. Well you're wrong, as this is in fact the way humor works. It all begins with a person telling you a simple and short story. Stand-up comedians call this a setup. After this, you should be thinking about this story in a certain way. And so, our brain will now make a path which will go from the setup to it's suitable punch-line. You will probably hear a different version of the punch-line, than you originally imagined, and you will most likely laugh. Just in case, you didn't get this, the example below should clear things out. The Setup: What is the most satisfying thing next to being shot at and missed? The Punch-line: An income tax refund. What punch-line did you have in mind? I bet, you thought either a Bosnian, Serbian or Croatian was driving. It's normal to think that way, as that is just the way our brain was made to work. You’ve noticed that the punch line is totally different than what you have expected it to be. Remember this well, as it represents the basic principle of the way humor works. You should create the best possible setup, as it's really important. Good comedians will always have a setup that only delivers the basic facts, so that there are many possible punch-lines you can think of. The more you are convinced, the more you will laugh after hearing the punch line. If you know the joke, you won't find it funny anymore, because you brain won't be making any new connections as you know the punch-line. This should be helpful if you want to create some new jokes. When someone tells something that all the folk thinks about in the same way, but you find out a different way to understand it. Now, if you tell this to others, it should be incredibly funny.
