Grandmothers are usually strongly concerned with health. This concern comes out especially when they talk about their grandchildren. They are very keen on explaining the kids how to wash their hands, how to keep their bedrooms clean, how to prepare foods for getting all vitamins and minerals from them, or how to stay fit and quickly lose extra pounds whenever necessary. Frankly, most children don't need granny's health tips, nor do they listen carefully and get advantage of that wisdom of life. Then, after years, when they find themselves as grown ups with children and responsibilities, they still remember some of granny's favorite sayings and even the punishments she'd apply to children who refused to behave. There's amazing: nobody knows where do grannies take their wisdom from, but many times they used to give advice which we can also get from doctors, who studied a lot to be able to know those things. Take only the difficult chapter of losing weight: some people pay good money on nutritionists, diets, workout videos, while an old, cute granny can teach you yhow she did it over the years, with success and keeping her money in the pocket. How is this possible? Well, old people lived the most part of their life in another kind of society, where they learned to listen to the nature and enjoy its benefits. Can you believe that one can lose weight simply by drinking a cup of special tea every day for a month? A tea made exclusively of herbs which grow in the grandmother's courtyard? This can be explained: only think that each plant has some properties and gives some interactions when ingested. Sometimes these interactions can be lethal for humans. Some other times, they can heal. The art is to know the plants, to understand their way of action on the human body and to be able to put this into the service of your personal aims. This is why advice from elders should not be neglected. It may be useful and save you good money.
